Kursten Mitchell serves as the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Girl Scouts of Central Texas, where she leads brand strategy, donor, member, and organizational communications, and helps to drive organizational strategy as a member of the senior leadership team. A marketing professional with over 20 years of industry experience, Kursten previously worked as Managing Director at Bloom Communications and WCG (now Real Chemistry), among other marketing agency positions.
Gabrielle Garonzik Director, Secretary
DevOps Coordinator, Texas Health & Human Services
Brie serves as the Secretary on the board of directors for Sunday Lunchbox, bringing expertise as a DevOps Coordinator for Texas Health and Human Services, specializing in data management and reporting. Outside of work, she enjoys woodworking, spending time with her family, and meandering walks with their dog.
Dorando Morrison Director, Treasurer
Application Manager, Apple
Dorando is a naturally curious and giving person. He brings a high interest and professional experience in technology to our Sunday Lunchbox leadership team, and leads with appreciation for opportunities to learn from others who have different walks of life. He is a first-generation immigrant by way of Jamaica and a recent father of twins with a loving and supportive wife.
Sarah Kelsey Director
Assistant Operations Manager, Hellas Construction
Active Member, Junior League of Austin
Sarah has a background in operations, project management, and volunteer work. She is passionate about the mission of Sunday Lunchbox and is eager to learn from the leadership team while contributing to its growth. Outside of work and involvement with the Junior League, she enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors with her 7-year-old daughter.
Kristen Starr Founder, Executive Director
Kristen Starr is the founder and Executive Director of Sunday Lunchbox. She graduated from MIT in 2010 with a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
As Engineering Director for the Social Impact team at Indeed, Kristen focuses on creating solutions to overcome industry bias. Her team helps job seekers facing barriers, such as criminal record or lack of a college degree, find employment.
Kristen founded Sunday Lunchbox in 2020, and combines her technical skills with a passion for community to tackle food injustice. She has grown the company during the past 3 years to deliver over 60k servings of food, and has navigated challenges such as building out a kitchen, managing a large volunteer base, securing Healthy Living and Food Justice grants from the City of Austin, and growing partnerships with local farmers and food artisans.
Lindsay Snowden Director of Operations
Beginning her journey as a volunteer in November 2023, Lindsay found herself drawn to the mission of Sunday Lunchbox, where her passion for food equity, collaboration, and community service took root. By March of 2024 she stepped into the role of Director of Operations, harnessing her leadership skills, commitment to operational excellence, and dedication to food equity to help drive positive change.
This year, she has streamlined operations, boosting the volunteer program’s efficiency and contributing to a remarkable 130% increase in the number of children served in the Austin community.
Lindsay graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s in Organizational Leadership.
